ABOUT ME

Magdala (mag-duh-luh) Louissaint (lou-saunt). Currently works at WSLS-TV in the Roanoke and Lynchburg, Virginia television market. She's an award-winning journalist who joined WSLS in July 2017 as the Lynchburg bureau reporter.

Magdala spent two years reporting at KPVI-TV in Pocatello, Idaho, where she won the Idaho State Broadcasters Association award for Best Continuing Coverage on “Cyanide: The Deadly Toxin.”
​
Prior to that, Magdala got her foot in the news world by working as a production assistant at WJLA in Washington, D.C. for nearly two years.
She's originally from Maryland and is Haitian-American. She has six brothers and is the only girl. She considers herself to be one tough cookie.
She graduated from Frostburg State University in May 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in mass communication and minored in journalism and public relations.
In her free time, Magdala loves meeting new people, going to church, exploring and being active in the community she's apart of. She loves to cook, sing, catch the latest Netflix series on the weekends and getting good workout in before the sun rises.
